Este libro fue publicado por el INSTITUTO DE INVESTIGACIONES AGROPECUARIAS (INIA) de Chile. El INIA es la institución pública de Chile que hace ciencia para el campo. Desde hace décadas investiga y prueba nuevas formas de cultivar y criar animales, y luego comparte ese conocimiento con agricultores y comunidades. Es como si fuera el AGROSAVIA chileno.
Cecilia Céspedes León
Hoy nos acompaña, como editora de la lectura, Cecilia Céspedes León, mujer, chilena, ingeniera agrónoma con un máster en Ciencia del Suelo en la Universidad Estatal de Oregón, en Estados Unidos. Durante muchos años trabajó como investigadora en el INIA Quilamapu, en Chile, donde lideró proyectos en agroecología, manejo de suelos, biofertilizantes y sostenibilidad de la agricultura familiar. También me pone feliz que la leamos porque pude compartir con ella varias veces, especialmente en un taller de abonos orgánicos para productores de amaranto en el sur de Chile.
Sigrid Vargas Schuldes
Hoy nos acompaña como co-editora del texto Sigrid Vargas Schuldes, mujer, chilena, ingeniera agrónoma e investigadora que desarrolló una trayectoria destacada en el INIA. Desempeñó roles clave en proyectos relacionados con la producción hortofrutícola orgánica y la agroecología orientada a pequeños y medianos productores de las regiones del Biobío y Los Ríos. Lideró y participó en iniciativas como el fortalecimiento de cadenas agroalimentarias de berries (frambuesa, arándano, frutilla).

Es un ingeniero forestal chileno, ampliamente reconocido por su labor en la promoción y desarrollo de los sistemas agroforestales en Chile. Actualmente ocupa el cargo de encargado nacional de la Línea de Desarrollo de Sistemas Agroforestales en el Instituto Forestal (Infor).
Contexto para la lectura
